Supervision

I have been an accredited supervisor with IAHIP since 2019. I have been in private practice as a psychotherapist since 2010. I supervise qualified and trainee psychotherapists, and counsellors from a diverse range of backgrounds. I am a humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapist by training. I am a qualified mindfulness teacher and have completed a year of postgraduate training in Gestalt therapy with the Dublin Gestalt Centre. I have completed trauma therapy training with Janina Fisher and Polyvagal Theory with Deb Dana. My EMDR background gives me a strong focus on trauma and complex trauma. I have considerable expertise in this area. I completed my supervision training with Super-Vision which uses the seven eyed model of Joan Wilmot and Robin Shohet.

I am creative, supportive, and non-judgmental in my approach. I create a space in which supervisees feel understood and encouraged. I am aware of the considerable demands of our work and offer a safe space to explore the work with clients and to protect against burn out. Often it is only in the peace and safety of the supervision session that we get an opportunity to reflect on what we as therapists may bring to the therapeutic relationship which can be hidden from our awareness. This can enrich our personal development and deepen the therapeutic relationship. I have a passion for supporting therapists, helping the helpers in this valuable work that we do. Supervision can be conducted in person or online via zoom.

“Marianne is an incredibly supportive supervisor. She really listens and understands what I need from each session. Our work together feels collaborative and respectful. I feel very held in those tough moments in the work and encouraged to keep growing and learning”. M.W.
